For children play is serious learning, play is really the work of childhood. / Knowing we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people. – Fred Rogers
21 years ago, I started working with children in my church Sunday school. I feel children need a safe and fun place to learn and grow socially and emotionally. I enjoy watching the children make new discoveries, and the snuggling! During the day I love making messy art and gardening with the children. I would love to study horticulture and own a garden store. When I am not at school I love making fairy gardens, baking, bird watching, and hiking with my son and husband.
Live, Laugh, Love
For the past 15 years I have watched the children grow and develop from now till they are in PreK. I love watching the children play and learn. Rotating toys and books keep the children engaged! Outdoor activities are always fun. I love watching the children dance and have fun during music time. I always knew I wanted to teach, I just wasn’t sure what age. I have really enjoyed working with the little ones. I love spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, and tv shows, and reading.
“To be tomorrow in the memory of your children, you must be present in their lives today!”
“Work every day as if it were the first day of your work, with neatness and responsibility”
I have been working in childcare for almost 7 years. I teach because children deserve their best chance at a successful life. To teach is to learn more and gain experience, and the satisfaction of seeing the achievements. I love free time playing, interacting with each child. It is the best way to cultivate confidence in each one, and I also receive gestures of gratitude such as hugs, smiles, joy, and more… Someday, I would love to study to be a social worker, to help children, seniors, and young people at risk but for now I want to learn better ways to teach. When I am not at work, I like to organize my home and listen to my daughter read to me.
